The Straight One-Handed Adze by Mueller is similar to the Carpenter's Adze, but intended for one handed use. This adze is hand forged out of the highest quality steel by Mueller in Austria. The overall length of the blade is 7-1/4" with a straight 3" cutting edge. The length of the blade also has a slightly curved shape from the eye to the cutting edge to match the natural arc resulting from its accompanying 18" long Ash handle. The Straight One-Handed Adze is intended for one handed use but has a long enough handle to also allow two-handed use. It removes wood at a fantastic rate and is ideal for smaller shaping and trimming jobs where a greater degree of control is needed. Although it comes machine sharpened, we recommend a final hone for optimal performance. Overall weight is 2 lb 5 oz. Made in Austria.
Important. This adze is not designed to be used as a pry bar. If you get stuck in the middle of a cut, pull the head out the same way it came in. Never pry it loose by bending it forward or backward as this will over time fatigue the steel.

The adze is used to shape and trim timber. It is capable of removing large amounts of wood quickly. Today's common uses of the Carpenter's Adze do not differ much from its traditional purpose. It is still used for scaling bark, shaping and trimming timber and any job requiring a tool capable of rapid wood removal.
