Draw Knife - 5" Straight Blade - USA |

This traditional pattern 5" Straight Blade Draw Knife is crafted in the USA. It is a heavy-duty drawknife with a blade cut from a solid bar of tool steel. Please note that the edge does require sharpening for best performace. The blade measures approximately 5" long, 2" wide and a full 1/4" thick. To make for a strong attachment, the blade is secured to each of the handles by means of a bolt that extend fully through. The handles are made from kiln dried ash with a lacquer finish. Comes with a rubber blade guard to keep the edge sharp when not in use. The Draw Knife will arrive with the edge coated in paint to prevent corrosion. The Draw knife
In addition to the traditional use of debarking logs, in days by gone, drawknives had many more specialised applications and were used by a variety of trades (Carpenter, Chairmaker, Cooper, Wheelwright, etc.) for shaping operations and for the rapid removal of surplus wood.
