Frame Saw (24") - Rip (5 tpi) |
Some professional cabinetmakers would argue that the traditional frame saw is the best hand saw for most sawing tasks such as ripping or cross cutting. Our traditional European Frame Saw (24") with a 5 tpi Rip Blade is made by E.C. Emmerich of Germany. The vertical bars and handles are crafted from red beech and very nicely finished. The horizontal bar is made from a light but strong tropical wood and features a stabilizing bridge at one end to prevent misalignment. The tensioning is achieved by a heavy steel rod with a wing nut. The distance between the screw hole for the blade and the underside of the horizontal bar is 5". The Rip Blade (5 tpi) measures 23 1/2" long, 1 1/2" wide and is made from quality alloy steel. This blade can be resharpened when needed. (Click on the picture below to get a close-up look at the blade). Made in Germany.
