This complete system measures approximately 36" long, 16" wide and 32" high. It will greatly increase your productivity when it comes to peeling, drilling and making tenons. The complete system is made of powder coated tubular steel for years of service and includes three parts as follows: 1. The Log Mate - holds the log horizontally in a V-shaped steel bed and secures it by means of a heavy duty ratcheting mechanism (click on the picture below for a close-up of the ratchet mechanism). Will accept up to 6" diameter logs. The Log Mate may be floor mounted (by adding the Leg Kit) or simply mounted to a sturdy table or bench. The Log Mate measures 36" long and 16" wide and is the key to holding the log securely while you are working on it. 2. The Drill Slide - holds the drill and attaches to to the Log Mate by means of sliding rails. Greatly speeds up the task of cutting tenons. The universal drill mount will hold virtually all heavy-duty power drills that feature a supplementary pipe handle. 3. The Leg Kit - attaches to the Log Mate and makes for a very sturdy work station positioned at a comfortable height of approximately 32". For additional sturdiness, the feet of the legs may be bolted onto a sheet of plywood. If the sheet of plywood is large enough so that the operator can stand on it while cutting the tenons, you will have achieved a very sturdy set-up that can handle logs up tp 10 ft long.
