This Heavy-Duty Log and Timber Saw by Silky cuts on the pull stroke and features very aggressive Japanese style teeth. It is a professional saw and a great alternative to Chain Saws. This Saw will be a very good choice if the logs and timber you will be cutting are seasoned. Ideal for cutting small to medium size logs and branches. This saw is very fast cutting and will do an excellent job cutting both green and seasoned wood. The 15 1/4 " long blade has been hard chrome plated making it resistant to the resin from trees and to corrosion. To minimize the risk for binding, the blade is taper ground (i.e. thicker at the tooth edge, thinner at the back of the blade). The teeth have been expertly sharpened and set and can be resharpened and reset when needed. The teeth are smaller at the heel (5.5 tpi) for an easy start and gets progressively larger towards the toe (4 tpi) to allow for fast cutting.The steel handle is covered with vulcanised rubber to reduce vibration and to provide for a secure and comfortable grip. Overall length is 24". The saw comes with a custom scabbard equipped with a strap attachment. Replacement blades available. Made in Japan.
