One-Man 36" Crosscut Log & Timber Saw (Regular) - Germany |
This Saw features a "Regular" teeth design with uniform cutting teeth. Historically, the Regular teeth pattern was used in both softwoods and hardwoods and was the standard pattern before the introduction of specialized patterns such as the Tuttle and Perforated Lance patterns which include dedicated raker teeth.
This hand hammered, Heavy-Duty Cross-Cut Log and Timber Saw is ideal for cutting small to medium size logs and branches. This One-Man Crosscut Saw is intended for cutting green wood where it truly excels. It will also cut dry wood although the performance will be much slower. The blade is 36" long with 3 tpi teeth that cut on the push as well as on the pull stroke. The blade has been hand sharpened and set and is made from extra heavy-duty 18 gauge special formula saw steel. The blade is 6" wide at the base tapering to about 3" at the tip. The teeth pattern includes starter teeth at the front of the blade to make it easier to begin a proper kerf before the main teeth are introduced. The wooden handle is made from laminated beech for strength and durability. Overall length is 39". Crafted the traditional way in Germany.
