Two Cherries Full-Size Carving Tools
Each tool is hand forged out of the highest quality German high carbon steel and mirror polished both inside and outside to facilitate honing. Skillfully using an immersion bath method, the steel is hardened to a guaranteed level of Rc 61. Each tool will arrive machine sharpened and ready for final honing to suit individual preferences. The octagon shaped hornbeam handles are fitted with a metal collar unless the cutting edge is larger that 25 mm in which case double-hooped handles are standard for added strength. Thoughtfully, each tool is dimensioned with its intended use in mind resulting in fine size variations. A narrow-edged tool will tend to be shorter and subtler and a broader-edged tool will tend to be longer and sturdier. Depending on the size of the cutting edge and the shape of the tool, total length varies between 9 ½" and 11 ½" and the blade length between 4 ½" and 6".
