Set of 3 Precision Try Squares by E.C. Emmerich |
The set of 3 premium quality Precision Try Squares by E.C.Emmerich includes the following sizes: 150mm (6"), 200mm (8") and 250mm (10"). If you value precision and quality without compromise, these are the squares to get. They will not disappoint you as the quality and solid feel of these squares become obvious the moment you lay your hands on them. In typical German attention to detail and precision, these squares exceed the accuracy of our other Try Squares. The accuracy is guaranteed at 0.1mm over the full length of the blade, for all three blade lengths. For purposes of comparison with our other squares, the accuracy equals 0.0007" per inch of blade length for the 150mm square, 0.0006" per inch of blade length for the 200mm square and 0.0004" per inch of blade length for the 250mm square. Notably, this accuracy is warranted on both the inside and outside edges of the handles as both edges have finely machined solid brass rub plates for protection and accuracy. These squares also feature beautiful and durable rosewood handles secured with four (not with three as is more common) brass pins to blued steel blades with 150mm, 200mm and 250mm, respectively, etched scales in 1mm graduations. Perhaps best known for its line of Primus Wooden hand planes, this famous tool company traces it's roots back to 1852 when master craftsman, Friedrich-Wilhelm Emmerich, founded E.C.E. in Remscheid Germany. Back in those days, most cabinet makers made their own tools. Friedrich made such fine planes and other tools that his colleagues offered to buy them for their own use. Soon the founder and his son Max, had to leave their small workroom and build a plant to meet the demand for their tools. Today, E.C.E. is still owned and run by the Emmerich family of craftsmen in the same town.
