Splitting Wedge - Massive Aluminum (37 oz) |
This massive aluminum wedge is is suitable for both splitting and felling purposes. It is forged from aviation quality aluminum. As aluminum is softer than steel it will give rather than splinter and as such is safer to use than a steel wedge. The narrow tip makes for an easy start. The wedge measures 10 1/4" long, 2 1/4" wide and 1 5/8" thick at the base tapering to a narrow tip. The front sides features acute angled rabbets to prevent the wedge from popping back when driving hard. Made in Germany by Iltis Oxhead.
