The T-3 uses the same jigs as the T-7 so you get access to the Tormek high quality sharpening system at a more favorable price. It is ideal for sharpening woodworking hand tools, knives and scissors. Slightly less heavy-duty than the T-7, the Tormek T-3 is made in Sweden and built to last as evidenced by the fact that the manufacturer backs the T-3 with a 7-year warranty. The slow speed grinding wheel runs in a water trough. The water prevents the tool from over heating. After sharpening, the leather honing wheel is used to hone a razor sharp edge. There are optional jigs available for a variety of tools. The jigs slide onto a micro adjustable support bar (included with the machine) permitting perfect control. Quality made in Sweden.

Tormek T-7 vs. T-3 Key Technical Specifications
- The T-7 has a 1/8" thick welded steel frame. The T-3 frame is shock proof ABS plastic. Both units have main shaft, nut and washer in stainless steel.
- The T-7 grinding wheel measures 10" x 2" (8" x 1-5/8" for T-3) and the leather wheel measures 8-5/8" x 1-7/32" (5" x 1" for T-3).
- The T-7 motor draws 200W, runs at 90 RPM and is rated for Continuous Use. The T-3 motor draws 120 W, runs at 120 RPM and is rated for 30 minutes of operation per hour.
- The T-7 has a carrying handle and quick coupling for the honing wheel. The T-3 does not.
- The T-7 overall dimensions are 10-5/8" wide, 10" deep and 12-3/4" tall. The T-3 overall dimensions are 9-1/16" wide, 7-7/8" deep and 10-1/4" tall.
- The T-7 weight is 32 lbs. The T-3 weight is 16.3 lbs.
- Both the T-7 and T-3 have a 7 Year Manufacturer's Warranty. The T-7 warranty includes commercial use which the T-3 does not.
