This Saw features a "Lance" teeth design with four cutting teeth to each raker tooth. Historically, the Lance pattern has been the preferred style when cutting green softwoods.
This hand hammered, Heavy-Duty Cross-Cut Log and Timber Saw is ideal for cutting medium to large logs. This Saw is intended for cutting green wood where it truly excels. It will also cut dry wood although the performance will be much slower. The blade is 56" long, features a curved breast and is 4 1/2" wide in the middle. The teeth cut both on the push and on the pull stroke. The ready for use blade has been hand sharpened and set and is made from extra heavy-duty 18 gauge special formula saw steel. The wooden handles fit into sockets at each end of the blade. Overall length is 60". Crafted the traditional way in Germany. Comes with one pair of wooden handles.
