The inshave is typically used for working convex surfaces such as when scooping out bowls or chairseats. This traditional pattern Inshave is crafted in the USA with a blade cut from a solid bar of high carbon steel. This inshave will need to be sharpened to a fine working edge. 

The blade measures approximately 5 1/5" long, 2" wide and a full 1/4" thick. To make for a strong attachment, the blade is secured to each of the handles by means of a bolt that extend fully through. The handles are made from kiln dried ash with a lacquer finish. Comes with a blade guard to keep the edge sharp when not in use. The knife will arrived with the edge coated in paint to prevent corrosion. This coat is easily removed during the sharpening process which we recommend to bring the knife to an adequate level of sharpness. This inshave is solidly built in the best American tradition.
