This premium Broad Axe has been patterned according to old Swedish logging techniques for squaring logs and structural timbers of all kinds. Hand forged in Sweden from top quality steel and then carefully hardened and tempered to Rockwell 57 for the best combination and hardness and toughness.
This Broad Axe is bevelled on both sides (double bevelled) and features a straight handle. This design allows you to use the axe to hew both the left and the right side of the timber as well as the top side. The head weighs 3 lbs and the face is 7" wide. The 20" long hickory handle has circular grooves at the grip to prevent slippage. The axe comes with a split grain leather sheath to protect the edge when not in use. Expertly forged in Sweden.

Gransfors Bruk
The family owned Gransfors Bruk (Gransfors Forge) is located in a small town in the county of Halsingland in Sweden. The forge has been making premium quality axes and other forged tools since 1902. All tools are hand forged by professional smiths. The forging craft is allowed to take its time as the smiths do not work by the piece. They take care and do the right forging from the beginning. Their confidence in the end product is such that they choose not to stone, grind, smooth or paint the tools. When a smith is satisfied with his work, he marks the head with his initials beside the Company's crown label.
