This premium Adze by Mueller is hand forged in Austria at the Himmelsberger Zeughammerwerk from top quality steel and then expertly hardened and tempered for the best combination and hardness and toughness. This adze comes with a razor sharp edge, a hickory handle and is ready for immediate use. It has a 1 3/4" wide cutting edge and a 6 1/2" long head. Handle is 15-1/2" long. Total weight 1lb 12 oz. The hand forged Bowl Adzes are meant for hollowing tasks such as when making bowls, troughs, chair seats and gutters. The curvature of the cutting edge is steep and approximates that of a No. 10 Sweep. Bevelled on the inside. They have been designed with a flat poll on the head that may be hit with a wooden mallet if needed in use. The handle is made from Hickory. The razor sharp edge has been hand sharpened and honed and is ready for use. Made in Austria.
