This Set of 4 Mortise Chisels (Extra Strong) - Made in Germany includes sizes 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8".
The stated sizes are true imperial inch sizes and not metric approximations. These are massive mortise chisels chisels built for standing up to heavy-duty use and are certain not to disappoint you. The blades are hand-forged from special German high carbon steel and hardened and tempered to a guaranteed level of Rc 61. The ability to take and hold an edge has been further enhanced by adding small amounts of Chromium and Vanadium alloys to the steel. The thickness of the blades is a massive 5/8” at the shoulder tapering to 7/16” at the edge. To facilitate cutting deep mortises, the blades also taper in width from tip to shoulder for sidewall clearance.The 6-1/4” double-hooped hornbeam handles are oversized for a secure grip and have leather shock washers. Overall length about 13”. These mortise chisels are seriously hefty tools. Made in Germany. Traditional Woodworker Trademark.
